Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama – Catholic Schools

Catholic Schools throughout the country will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week beginning January 31, 2016 and concluding February 6, 2016. This week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2016 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” During this week, schools schedule open houses and special events that highlight the benefits of Catholic education.

The Catholic Schools Week Mass will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Cathedral of Saint Paul on 3rd Avenue North and 22nd Street North. Sixth graders from Catholic schools across the Diocese of Birmingham will be in attendance. Each sixth grade class will receive a special gift from Bishop Baker. Music will be provided by the liturgical choir of Saint John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville. Students from John Carroll Catholic High School and Holy Family Cristo Rey High School both in the Birmingham area will serve as ushers.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please feel free to give us a call at the Catholic Schools Office.

Yours in Christ,
